"A limerick is a silly poem with five lines. They are often funny or nonsensical. Limericks were made famous by Edward Lear, a famous author who wrote the "Book of Nonsense" in the 1800's. This was an entire book of silly limericks.
How to write a limerick: The first, second and fifth lines rhyme with each other and have the same number of syllables (typically 8 or 9). Your Task: Write a limerick with a theme of summer. You've been working on these in class and may use a poem that you have already created. Take the time to revise and edit it. Before now, you have been sharing your attempts with classmates. This is now a graded assignment and you should put your full effort into it. Add your limerick to this page and post it. You may add a picture to go with it if you feel that it will enhance your [[#|work]]. Be sure to use the discussion tab to discuss the limericks the way that we would in class. Recognize the good work that other people are doing!
